Blogmas 2014: #8 Quick and dirty removal

One third of the way through the season…
My preferred options (other than the No7 wipes)
because I think the wipes for more "mature" skin are
more sensitive skin friendly. Could just be me.

I don't know about you guys and girls but sometimes I can be LAY-ZEE when it comes to removing my make-up at night. Especially when your'e working longer hours, socialising more often and crashing for 6 hours a night, rather than the preferred 10.

I'm sorry mothers of the readership - please don't hate me for my childfree person sleep preferences. I'm sure I'll pay for it somehow, someday.

In any case, sometimes (mostly) I'm not going to start with the cream cleanser and hot cloth, no doubt a contributing factor to my increasing skin flakiness and dullness. Enter - cleansing wipes.

(*Audible gasp from stage left*) Ahem, and I continue…
Make-up wipes are the foil to your dermatological health and well being. The friend to pore blocking sebum and enemy to your youth, health and probably Earth. However they're also pretty fricking handy and something that all of use at one time or another - so let's use ones that are working better than the 99p bargain basement cloths.

My biggest gripe with cleansing wipes is that THEY ARE NOT WET ENOUGH. In addition, because I rarely use them nowadays, they dry up - so I think I've got a pack for emergencies but actually they've transmuted to tissues over the course of the last two months.

To that end, I like the No7 (not pictured) and L'Oreal (particularly old lady) wipes. All three have the airtight lid and in are wetter and more effective than the good old brands of my youth. Handy, given that mascara manufacturers have definitely upped their game in the last 15 years.

I love the smell of the L'Oreal ones and often they're on offer. The No7 ones are really pricey standalone (£7 or £8 - not worth it to my mind) but with the regular £5 off vouchers for No7 you get them down to a more reasonable sum.

Good luck - and God speed your pores' safe and speedy return to normality post party season.

Til tomorrow kitty kats - love, hugs and a (pleasantly un)squeaky clean night's rest

xx Josephine xx
